YES SIR, more to follow.

What a run! Pleasant surprise. Picked what seemed to be a very tough workout from Jack Daniels. Figured it could go one of two ways: complete it and get a confidence boost, or eat shit and realize I need some serious goal recalibration. Thankfully, the former happened!

Workout was supposed to be 1E-8M-1T-4M-1T-1M-1E (18 continuous). Was aiming for 6:20 and 6:00. Got going and first 2E felt fine but were slower than expected. Was kind of the case for the first M mile too, but then after that, I was just clicking! As was the case on Wed, I tended to be too fast and would have to slow down, but the wind also caused a little more pace variation today. By the time I got to the first T I was feeling strong and figured 5:55 would be fine, but as I started, realized I could comfortably manage quicker. Next 4 were cake after that! Second T was harder only because it was into some good wind for most of it. Was tired coming out of that, but after a couple min that last M was nothin. Midway through that last E, pace was still coming so easy I figured what's two more miles! Took the foot off the gas a bit but was still cruising along no problem.

Great day, and the best part is I didn't end the run spent. A while back I ran 18@6:25 and the run gave me the confidence to run CM too aggressively. I wasn't being honest with myself at the time... I was pretty dead after that run. Today I felt awesome! Definitely feel I had another 10k @ 6:2x in me... was considering going to 22 but I didn't want to get too greedy. Definitely feel comfortable aiming for 6:20/sub 2:46 now.

Cool day in the 40s probably helped keep me better hydrated but made sure to stop on miles 7 and 12 for some water (kept watch running). Nature Valley bars, half bagel, 48oz water, and caffeine during the day beforehand.

Looks like 6:19 first 8M, 6:15 next 4M, official workout 15 in 6:12 but actually fastest 15 was a shade faster with that 18th mile. In fact, last 18 were at an avg pace of 6:15, I can dig it.

This may have even convinced me that I won't be seeing a DNF or DFL next to your name in Boston.
