Wore the heart rate monitor again. I settled in at an ok pace and then checked the HRM. I was doing 2:40-3:00 laps in the 155-165 range. For the last lap I brought the pace up but couldn't manage to get over 180. So, perhaps my max heart rate is about average for my age, which would make it about 180. I remember when I was younger riding entire bicycle races while keeping my HR within a few beats of 180 and now it's about my max...
