Kennebunk Beach Road Race
watch had it slight long. Well came in second or first LOSER. Raced well though. Some youngsters lined up front and took it out pretty hard. I stayed maybe 10-15 secs back. The course goes through neighborhoods and has a little climb in first half mile. Went conservatively up the hill and was in about 5th or 6th, but then attacked downhill and was in 3rd by end of hill and first mile. There were a few blind turns, perfect for racing, and sprinted them to get more distance and not lose the top 2 guys. Then we went on the beach side for about 1/3 mile with wind at our backs. Then turned on into some neighborhoods again. Lot more blind turns here and the gap between me and the top guys were about 15-17 seconds, tried to get them on these turns and might have cut it a few seconds. Then we were back on the beach for about 1.2 miles with an over 10 mile an hour wind in our face to the finish. Thought this might help me and it did to catch second place and really surged as I passed by him and made it hurt. He was done and was hoping I had enough track for the next guy, NOPE he held up and came I through in second. Fun race
