Saw a family of raccoons along the trail. After reading about the raccoon attack in Washington, I decided to play it safe: crossed to the other side of the trail, kept my head down, and avoided eye contact. One flicked his cigarette butt to the ground, and he looked like he was going to come after me, so I sped up. He didn't chase, thankfully. If I go through that neighborhood again, it will definitely be in a car...with my windows rolled up and the doors locked.
