8K Cross Country: Div III Nationals @ Oshkosh
Great day for running, cool with little wind.
Leaders got out hard (4:30), and I was way back (4:50, maybe in the top 100), but kept the pace pretty even and fought back into 21st. Course was probably short--maybe 50 meters--but it would still come out to a PR. The race was all that satisfying for the fact that I was 21st. Plus, our team didn't make it to Nationals that year...it was only Phil and I.
In the end, it gave me the confidence for next year cross--I would be way back in that race, but fight back to 11th and that's when we had our team there for a third place finish.
