Notes

Race felt actually really good for how I was feeling prior. I was having some serious stomach issues before and even the strides before felt like I had a rock in my stomach. Might've been nerves or maybe some lingering sickness still from earlier this week. I started the race relatively fine, wish I started the race faster but was had just a strange position but I didn't let that worry me too much. I felt pretty good the first laps and the turns actually were not bad at all. At around the halfway point I realized it was time to really start catching J Rod and the Plainfield south guy so I picked up just a tad too late and finished with a good amount left in me but for some reason I didn't kick with the right muscles that I usually finish with (I know that sounds weird but I just knew I had more left in me at the end). When I finished I was aerobically gassed but my muscles could've ran a 5k. I had the heartburn to heat up hell itself and that did not go away until Sunday afternoon, I think that was just the indoor air. Overall, I was happy with 2:12, I know for sure that this track season that the 800 is going to be one of my specialties, I know it's a bold achievement but I feel like that sub 2 is within my grasp this season, it won't be next race or the one after that, but each experience is going to allow me to understand how to perfectly execute that time I am looking for.

You definitely have sub 2:00 in you!
