I have ran this event four times. All four times I have struggled to maintain pace for the last 3-4 miles. I suspect the reason today was a factor of the heat, went out at pace slightly faster than ideal and maybe I was weak mentally at the end. I did not have anything in the tank at the end however.
Stomach bothered me greatly before the race. Visited the portapotty 3 times. Stomach bothered me greatly after the race. Many visits to the little boy's room. Fortunately it did not bother me during the race.
