The story of this run is the new shoes. I went in to LRC Saturday, determined to use my stack of AG certificates. Came home with the Mizunos, which are wonderfully light (for shoes) and quite comfortable. Got brave and decided to do this run with them. From the beginning I felt like I was heel dragging, noisy, inefficient, and working too hard. This kind of detracted from everything else. Also wore my new Nathan strip light. It's nice and visible, but I'm not convinced by its attachment system, the elastic Velcro. Saw a lot of other runners, and a couple of bats at RI & Calvert (I have seen them there before). Back to the shoes, during the run I pretty much decided they're nice in the way they feel and look, but I'd better order a new pair of VFFs for running. My conclusions during the run became confusion when the time I expected to be 1:05 turned out to be 1:01.
