A challenge. Snowing and about three inches of snow made it hard to judge what I might be stepping on. The ranch road itself was treacherous to the extent that it was mostly walked. Cattle guards were scary. County road much better, with the rocks cushioned sufficiently by snow that they weren't uncomfortable. Really felt the altitude on the inclines. A little concerned about wild animals, but what I did meet was two dogs at Dieckmans'. They barked and came up to greet me. I don't think they were mean, but I wasn't certain, so I was unfriendly to them, and they baxked off. I decided that would be a prudent place to turn around. All said, though, it was kind of fun.
