Notes

Back to consecutive BF runs, and starting this with a raw sore on my right little toe. Wore a band-aid and tape. The run felt pretty good, and there's a lot to be said for being able to see the acorns you're trying to dodge. I was feeling good enough that I thought I might do the whole J Street loop. Then, during mile two, my little toe started hurting. The tape was coming off, as was the band-aid beneath it. Couldn't fix it, so I had no choice but to HTFU and continue running on the sore, but to shorten. Maybe this was good training in not using the toe for traction. To add insult to injury, I came onto the asphalt part of the track along the zoo. I had forgotten that; the concrete was feeling nice when I was thinking longer run, but this was pretty rough. Went on through it so I could get my six, then had to turn back and run across it again. Amazingly, the sore toe didn't give me too much trouble, but I didn't relish making the wound bigger than it already was. Got home alright, at a ridiculously slow pace. Didn't feel bad; just slow.
