Notes

A lovely day, so I wore huaraches. About mile four of the southbound part, the gloves came off. So did the headband. I would have been comfortable in shorts and t-shirt as well, but it was cooler coming back, 'cause there was a north wind. I had foolishly thought the huaraches would be giving my right little toe a break, but a short time into the run I remembered the blistering issues. Oh well. Tried to make my stride as good as possible to avoid abrasion. And to make my stride as good as possible. At mile seven, stopped for a full minute to retie my right shoe. Didn't adjust the time for this. Near mile eleven, a guy coming toward me on a bike yelled, "Nice stride!", and "Good job!" as he passed me. He apparently thinks himself qualified to be a running coach. I will go with that. I was starting to feel stiff in the ankles and feet in the last two miles, but had enough energy to finish strong. Didn't have the full bladder issues I had fought on recent long runs, probably because I cut down last minute drinking and increased last minute bathroom visits.
