Notes
Driving snowstorm, an inch of snow, sometimes ice on the trail. As a runner, I was glad I wasn't one of the volunteers. I felt pretty surefooted in my VFFs. Still, the snow makes it tough to give 100%. I wasn't as limber this morning as I was last night. Something about previous night's festivities. Two guys passed me around mile 2, and nearing the turnaround, it was evident that I was indeed in third place. DD confirmed as I passed her. In last two miles, I was aware of a female runner behind and pretty close, was aware that she might kick at the end, and sure enough, at 16th she kicked and passed me by about 2 feet at the finish. It was good.
