Brief rain shower on the way over. Did some warm-up running around the school and track, which I'm not logging. Greg B was there to support me, which was nice. Chatted with Lyle L and Charles Blessing before the race. 25 in the heat meant a two row start. As #15, that put me in second row lane 2. Probably the right place for me in that group. No time to think about it, though; we lined up and were off. Felt like I was in last place in lap one, but I couldn't really tell. I passed a few in laps 2-3, but some passed me later. It was obvious that Bob G and Lyle were in the lead, but that was obvious before the start. Jack U had a strong kick to pass me in the last half lap. I did not have a kick, but maybe that means my pacing was good. It's a tough distance for me. 6:41 pace seems good, considering my mile PR is 6:32.
