Notes

A pleasant morning, though the sun did come out right as we started running. The warm-up felt good, though I was worried about my stomach. We agreed on a 3min tempo to start and boy did that feel like a mess. At least looking back it was a fast tempo.

From there we alternated who took charge, ranging from 20sec to about 3min segments during the fartlek. Our first several got progressively faster and shorter, so soon I was feeling much better about our speed. But it didn't take long to get pretty tired. I nearly stopped after our longer segment just 2 miles in. I still led a solid segment next, but after that, I started lagging behind Sutton.

However, we both were taking it easy for about a mile as we geared up to do the whole dam in 1 go as it was a Strava segment. We pushed hard on that and basically shuffled the final 1/2 mile to make it 5 miles total.

Hard stuff, and I don't think I'm recovered completely from Headwaters. But it's time to get some speed so as long as I can get through a workout, I'm happy.

Who were you running with?

I did write Sutton, though it took me to the end of the 2nd paragraph.

I thought I read it really closely to see if you mentioned a name anywhere, but apparently I missed it. I'm just going to assume you added it in before making your comment.

I figured you'd say that. But I can't prove it without some database logs.

I will admit that I realized while writing that I had said "we" several times without saying whom. But I just threw his name in the next sentence instead of actually changing my previous writing for the better.
