Notes

I made a deal with myself that if I woke up early enough then I'd drive down to Des Moines to get my old hilly trails. But as usually happens when I do this, I have an antsy, restless sleep where I wake up several times before my deadline.

I left to find wet roads; that was worrisome. Thankfully, the soil had already absorbed the light rain and the trails were in great shape. I, on the other hand, was not in great shape. I'd forgotten how slow you go on these trails. I think I resisted that idea and started too hard.

Not sure if anyone cares to know, but here's my new plan for the coming weeks: solid distance runs, preferably on soft surfaces, probably no workouts or long runs. We'll see how my legs heal up. 2 reasons for this. 1) I'm never a big fan of babying casual pains. 2) There's still that chance that running outside gets outlawed at some point. If that happens, I can rest then.

Rebel.

Seems like a good path forward. Just don't pass up the chance to be: The Outlaw Runner. Sounds like it would make a good vigilante TV show about running and crime fighting.

Nutmeg

I leave that as plan b if I am 100% healthy then.
