Notes

1pm isn't a normal time for me to run, but when I found out Naomi was driving north of Ames around then, I took advantage to get dropped off and get the wind at my back for a good portion of the run. My mid-morning snack was just peanut butter and dates.

I did 2miles around Ada Hayden (where I did my 10mile TT) and was planning more of my workout there, however it wasn't in great shape so I continued south. I started with a mile of tempo about 6min.

One cool new feature of my watch is I can have it give my info through my headphones, usually just lap times but sometimes the lap pace as well. That is really convenient now when I don't want to look at my watch and expose my skin to the cold. However, it doesn't help me check my watch for current lap distance or pace. Hence, when I found a cleared and not-very-busy street to do repeats on, I just made up a pace and stopped when I felt like it. So that's how I ended up doing 1/3rd mile repeats, 5 of them, all about 5:20 pace, and all feeling surprisingly good.

Next up was some hill repeats, but the nearby hill was only half-plowed and I didn't even finish at the top as it became slippery. So 3 not super fast 30sec hills.

It took me a mile of running to find a good sidewalk for 200m repeats but did find a good one. Again I just guessed the distance but honed in on the 27sec range. Not super fast and only did 5 as the good sidewalk ran out (not willing to turn around into the wind after having the sun and no wind for most of the run).
