Notes

A couple of hours after the Grand Maraisians left, a storm rolled through that ended up being far worse than most expected. I think forecasts even had it dissipating before hitting central Iowa. Instead, the winds were ferocious. Some hail, some lightning, a good amount of rain, but mostly wind damage. Lots of trees down, power lines down, signs and fences down, roofs damaged, and power out for the whole town. Thankfully, my new construction home wasn't really damaged, I just needed to keep some water from seeping in the windows.

Anyway, instead of staying up by flashlight, I was asleep by 9:30 and awake by 5. Out of bed a little later and out the door a little after that. My darkest run in some time. The 1st mile included a lot of personal generators, some closed roads, and a park bathroom for me to avoid using up water in my apartment.

I would then head down Oak Blvd gravel for the 3rd time in 3 runs, this time staying on the gravel longer. It is about a 7mile loop with some add-on gravel available, though it does seem the extensions are just straight and boring out-and-backs.

A longer trip through town as I needed another detour around closed streets.
