I went straight to the front this year, partly just expecting others to still go out harder, but not the case this year. So the 1st mile went by with me running side-by-side someone with Drew drafting and no one else. I think I got a bit too exited to be racing and feeling good, probably would have served me better to relax more.

1 mile - 5:11 (est. Pvalue of .04 for being accurate)

Drew made his move 1/2 through the race to drop our competitor. This slight drop in pace hit when I was just starting to get tired and quickly took me from comfortable to uncomfortable. I need to do a better job maintaining my form instead of instantly going to feeling strained.

2 mile - 10:01

Held on to Drew for another 1/2 mile and then let him go. I was worried about being passed by 3rd place but held him off.

3 mile - 15:04, 5k - 15:37

I'm certainly not going to guarentee the race distance, but I can at least say I ran faster than last year (2sec) without feeling as crappy afterwards. Some things to work on, but that's what workouts are for I suppose.
