Notes
Thursty Thursday indoors at the Dome. Workout was 4 x (200m, 200m, 800m) @ ~5k w/ 200m rest between reps and 400m rest between sets. No one else wore spikes so I didn't, but I'll probably start next time.
I started out with a group of 4 with 1 guy who wanted to hit 41's for each 200. After the first set (800 in 2:45), 3 of us started separated ourselves (Bowser, myself, and a kid with a Wartburg shirt on!). We started hitting 40's and under, I tried to help lead but the Wartburg guy really wanted to stay in the lead. Problem was, he wasn't that great at pacing.
The 2nd 800 was 2:41. The 3rd set I started to exert my will and hit the 800 in 2:35 and breaking away for the 4th in 2:32. I never pushed myself really and tried to stay as relaxed as possible. I don't feel like I succeeded in the relaxed part, but I think it felt better than any track workout I did last winter (probably thanks to running with people).
Turns out the Wartburg guy is actually on the team, a decent but unimpressive freshmen. I'm not sure why he's doing workouts but it felt good to beat him (I'm competitive and immature, I know).
