Notes
There was a lot of things that would have made this run not a success, my lack of sleep, my recover/regression from last week, snow on the ground, cookies in my stomach. So instead I tried to set myself up to not fail and do gravel hill repeats where I wouldn't be concerned or be able to compare pace.
There may have been some better hills in northern Ames, but I chose a gravel one nearby that shouldn't have much traffic. The hill would be something around 250m. I started with 2 55's then pretty much rolled through 53sec except for a penultimate 51sec rep. My goal was 8 repeats but got to 10 and then continued to 12. It may have helped that I needed to do lap math for a couple repeats just to figure out how many I'd done.
The pace was slow, the hill not super steep, but slick if I wasn't careful. Glad to get the some work in on an easy week.
P.S. I think I need to stop wearing the Dynablast (from Sunday's run). I enjoy them but they are a 1/2 or full size too big and my arches feel wrongly worked a day or 2 after.
