Notes

For my 1st workout in 2 weeks, a fartlek is always a good option to take it easy if desired. I warmed up 2 miles on the highway and the NW side of town. I started with a 2mile tempo: 1st mile a little above 6, 2nd a little below 6.

I didn't mean to time it this way but I went straight into a segment, 1/2mile long on the bike path. I just needed to average better than tempo pace and I beat this one easily.

I did a few more pieces on my 3mile trip to the 2nd segment: a downhill sprint, a quarter-mile tempo, 1mile steady state, 1 short hill. This segment is about a quarter-mile hill (though longer if you add in the not-very-steep inclines). I just had to average 6min pace and thought my watch was telling me I was clearly doing that, but it turns out I barely on the KOH by 1 second. It would be fun though if now somehow tried to get it back though.

So mission accomplished, also got some double d's for the day (new meaning, local ice cream shop is called double dipped).
