Notes

Ok, let's do this. In the end, this year was defined by unpredictability, aka several completely ruined races. I'm hoping to get a handle on the issue but we'll see.

There were highlights throughout the year, my highest finish ever at Dam to Dam (RIP), a return to scoring at the Army 10 Miler, and a win at the Pleasant Creek Trail Race (not to mention my highest cash payday ever). But like 2017, even my good races could not be defined as fast. Dam to Dam was windy, Army 10 Miler was humid, and Pleasant Creek was a trail race.

As for training, this year was about staying healthy, pretty successful there. Similar total miles to 2017, but much more consistent. 2017 had higher individual weeks (more 60+) but also very low weeks due to injury. 2018 had just 1 week over 60 and 3 others over 50. Not very impressive considering I once did a year with maybe 3 weeks under 50.

I'll be happy with staying healthy. And currently having some motivation to get back to some consistent 50's and 60's. Fitness seems good despite several disgraces. Once again I'll say it will be interesting to see what I can do when I'm actually in a good-conditions race again. Though hopefully a decent training plan will get me some speed back anyway.
