Notes
Like the last time that I had a terrible road race, I wanted to just go out and run faster in a workout to prove it was a fluke. That was a possibility today until I started on a pretty hilly route and didn't feel like I'd have enough time to recover if I forced it.
First 4 miles felt dandy, the legs were springy on the pavement after 2 trail days. I set off for a faster pace and ended up doing a mile. My watch insisted that I was going >6min but maybe the trees were tricking it as I ended with a 5:37. A few minute jog before pushing it up the 1/2 mile hill. Then I threw in another mile, also at 5:37. Though this one was somewhat of an opposite as I started fast on a downhill before just trying to survive a few solid hills.
Nothing near impressive, but at least it didn't seem like I had stomach problems.
