Lots of miles while watching the Des Moines Marathon (well mostly the half). Main reason was to see Hero, but then there was Chris Nealy, Terry Nielson, Jake Sutton (pacing full), Mitchell Davis, JP Sevcik (full), Adam Best, Andy Bernholtz (full), and several more I somewhat know. So that made it easy to get the miles in (the new course is very nice for spectating). I would stop a few times to chat with Renee and her family, but my main stops were at 2 miles to watch everyone go by, at 12 miles to hang out in the finish area, and at 14 to see 1 more guy in the marathon.
Only downsides were the humidity, and not letting me steal food in the finish area. This did get me more appreciative of the Des Moines marathon, but Dam to Dam is still way better.
EDIT: I forgot to mention Kevin Lewis, he freakin won the half!
