Notes
Leaving Cedar Rapids for the journey North, so got Drew out for a workout, a track workout. Not that I love track workouts, but if you can do them with someone, the fast paces tend to feel easier.
2 miles warm-up then we just did a 400 to see how it felt, 1:21. My goal today was to do a good amount of pacing at 5:20 and faster, so this was a good start. Also didn't care too much about stressing the lungs so kept the recovery easier at 90 sec.
Next up was a 600 in 2:02, still good. Drew and I talked a bit and decided to continue this into a pyramid. It was also apparent that the storms were going to hit a bit earlier than I hoped, and the rest of the workout was completely in the rain and thunder (not much increase in the wind though thankfully).
800m in 2:41, starting to feel good at this pace and we started to get faster every time from here. Two 1000's in 3:19 and 3:15. Legs are starting to feel tighter. 800 in 2:34, 600 in 1:54, and finally a 400 in 1:13.
Really not that difficult of a workout, but it's nice to feel good and hit some solid paces. We definitely could have done more but I also wasn't looking to kill the legs, especially since they weren't that recovered from Saturday.
