Notes

Leg 2: I was looking forward to this one, the hilly gravel leg. We finally caught up to the main field (400 teams, starting in waves from 5AM to 3PM, we started at 3PM so it took awhile to get to catch up to most teams) and it was midnight with much better weather. Plus, my teammates were pumped after their legs and that got me pumped. I got the handoff and basically took off sprinting, starting a little too fast again. I was passing people left and right (ok, I think I passed everyone on their right...) and feeling at home on the gravel hills at night.

After rolling for awhile, I looked at my watch and saw 14 minutes. Realizing I wasn't that far in and still had the hillier part to come, I slowed down, but... then every time I came up on someone or a van passed me I picked it up. I had some fun with the vans too, they were hesitant to pass on gravel uphills, so I raced them some (I was probably closer to the van's pace then the other runner's).

Passed 34 teams ("Kills" in Ragnar-speak), had some fun. Wish I could compare times to the lead team since I felt much better on this leg than the 1st, hopefully my glutes survive another run.
