Notes
Instead of getting sharper with each mile race, this one seemed very stale. I wasn't feeling too good before the race, but was happy to be in a slow heat and maybe easing into this race. I started out well in a good position but picked the wrong guy again to draft and was soon passed by many. My small amount of enthusiasm was taken and I soon was off the back of the pack. Seems like these shorter races have no place for internal debate, you're either going after it or not. In longer races, I feel I can convince myself to hang on without slowing down. So I made a few better pushes in this race, but couldn't hold momentum through the turns. Not sure about these spikes anymore. But now I think I need to move on to other races and forget how a mile feels, come back to it after a bit more endurance.
