Couple mile warm-up in the rain, not yet into the wind. Another workout day for the Steelespoons. I just kept with Rebel this time and let them do the quick repeats on their own. 1mile tempo under 5:30. Then I did 4 30sec hill strides on my own. Then joined Rebel for another mile tempo, closer to 5:20.
It's been a great 2 weeks of training in Grand Marais, not sure what to think about the workouts though. I definitely like maintaining some speed, but this is base phase and it doesn't seem right! Time to focus on mileage, but make sure I keep doing strides and maybe 1 easy workout a week (who am I kidding, once I return to the hot and humid hell, workouts will feel terrible).
