I'm pushing the distance a bit faster than normal as I have a 25k in 2 weeks. I could have joined the DM crew for 12 miles on the bike paths, but doing the same amount of time on trails (by myself) was a good choice.
I had thought I made a mistake of driving straight to the trails (which was my plan when I only was going to run 5 miles), but it ended up great. I did end up wandering some streets as I couldn't find the park, but the main addition was the new section in Squirrel's Nest; it has now 3x more trails than it did last year, pretty sweet (of course it was made my mountain bikers so it is very twisty, but whatever).
I kept it fairly easy but tried to let my legs find a good pace too. Some groin annoyance but nothing bad.
