Notes
Set out on a hill workout on the longest hill I could find (not necessarily the hardest). The best I could do was on the paved highway, hill was about 1.25 miles long, not very steep at all but wasn't flat in too many spots either.
Hill 1 - 7:03 - Basically a tempo going up to get the feel of the hill, man it takes a long time to get to the top (which I can see from the bottom), even Clay Hill usually took about 6min.
Hill 2 - 6:58 - Man it takes a long time to get to the bottom, 8 1/2 minutes of recovery seems like a lot for repeats, but what could I do? Drew joined me on his bike for this one. I thought I was stepping up the pace a notch, but apparently not very much. At least it wasn't slower.
Hill 3 - 6:30 (estimated) - Went after this one and was feeling strong until my final lift in pace about 5min in, after which I got tired of pushing and just maintained my pace.
Overall this felt like more of a tempo/10k workout than hill due to the lack of steep inclines, oh well. On the cool-down, my core was bothering me, probably from increased ab workouts recently. Forge on.
