Notes
Retro and I both wanted to do a workout and that ended up being track 800's. Loras' track had some activity when we got there but decided to go for a warm-up and see how it looked when we got back. 3 miles and the place was empty, though it did have some football and soccer equipment that we decided to leave.
1) 2:44. Started a little fast and slowed down continuously to get an easy start.
2) 2:41. Retro led this one without a watch.
3) 2:42. My lead again.
4) 2:36. Retro goes a little fast, but not because he's feeling good.
5) 2:38. I led from here on out, though Retro toughed it out and finished within 10sec of me each time.
6) 2:39. Slightly slower and this one was the hardest mentally, I could see the end coming for the final 2.
7) 2:35. Picking it up and happy to almost be done.
8) 2:31. Finishing strong without feeling like I'm sprinting.
Solid workout that I owe Retro for. Hopefully, this translates to a few good XC races (or more likely, a not so great 5k this weekend, then a long week of tired legs and recovery before a good All-American).
