Notes

Plan was to do tempo with Sutton, I would have preferred it broken up but he wanted to do it continuous. After a 3 mile warmup on trails, we started on a long downhill, which was nice for easing into our tempo pace and felt good. The 2nd mile took some time to get used to the faster pace on the flats. The 3rd mile, I was getting comfortable in my stride but could tell I was breathing harder than I would have liked. I was starting to think about quitting on the 4th mile and stopped after the 5th when my legs were tiring. I stopped earlier than needed to make sure I didn't go too hard. Still, I was hoping that would feel better. Maybe I just worked too hard yesterday.

Sutton did a few more miles of tempo, while I did a slow trot back to the cars in the rain (of course the rain started right after I finished tempo, although maybe that would have encouraged me to push harder than needed).
