I braved the 1mile "bike lane" on the highway to continue East on the Heart of Iowa trail. I made it all the way to Slater! It was pretty cool being able to run to another town. Another few minutes and I would have hit the High Trestle. The route wasn't too interesting, and less shade than I would have hoped. But there was an easement of prairie or trees the whole way.
This week is starting to look better. At least compared to how I felt over the weekend and how it has been mid-90's all week and I've hardly noticed (by running early).
