Notes

This run had bad omens from the get-go. More storms were forecasted this afternoon so I sought a lunch run. But I wanted a trail that was a 30min drive (already a stretch to what could be deemed a long lunch). Then there was construction and a lot more traffic than seemed reasonable. And once I arrived, I found out it would cost me to park!

I was too stubborn to even consider paying something (and it was probably only $5) and I happened to know another parking spot from looking this place up. So 2 U-turns later and 50min after starting my drive, I was basically parking off an entrance ramp to a highway.

But the trail was right there (Robert Treman State Park) and it was a lovely trail. Much flatter and greener than yesterday. Though when I did ascend, the inclines were always steep. Thankfully they were also firm. The bad news was my achilles was pained from the start. It felt good enough to not ruin the run. Even that pain and a generally fatigued body couldn't ruin these trails.

The return trip was pleasantly uneventful and I don't believe my long lunch was noticed.
