weather was comfortable with rain showers in the late morning, then partly cloudy throughout and into the next day...Anne Weaver paced me from Visitor Center AS (mile 78) on. course was tough....there were a lot of rocks roughly from mile 6-18, then scattered throughout the rest of race. the course was very wet from rain they had on thursday. multiple times we ran through creeks and streams and the trail past Camp Roosevelt AS was a stream...had rocky streamed trail around mile 93-94 as well. the last 7 miles was up Jawbone mtn and down other side...other side was rocky in most places. it leveled out and eventually got to the road...last 4 miles were on road, then cut in, up into woods and to the finish....overall, a tough race. i had many thoughts on this race, some good and some bad. very hard to run in spots, but runnable in other spots. great atmosphere. i will probably run it again.
