Was going to do GBH hill reps this morning, but the rain was torrential and I decided the hill might be unsafe. The Inov8 X-Talon 212s arrived yesterday so decided to test them on the steep chalk hills, in pouring rain. They were...erm...umm...fucking brilliant. They felt "slipper-like" in much the same way as the Hyperspeeds and the grip, in the most demanding of conditions, was second to none. I love the minimalist feel of them, never felt like I needed more cushioning or support, and would (on the basis of just this one run) feel comfortable running 50 - 100 mi off road in them. Well.... as comfortable as you can feel whilst doing that. They are probably the best shoe, of any sort, that I have put my feet in.
