a nice run today. i miss gomez already. although i think the dry season bs is really stupid and shouldnt happen it doesnt mean a whole lot to me. other shit kind of irks me though. coach sent me my mileage for this week and although ive told her like a dozen times that i am running this mileage in singles only she for some reason doesnt know that and is telling me to do doubles? wtf? what is this shit? seriously the last two meetings i have outlined what i have done day by day and somehow that isnt enough to get the point across. furthermore the workouts for the week are really idiotic. wtf is the point in me doing 6x2 min tempo pace?? are u high or something?? for this to be a meaningful workout I either need to a) run a lot faster than tempo pace. if i do this then im not even doing the same workout. or b) actually do a real tempo run like i have been. i mean the phrase "6x2 min tempo" makes no sense at all. if you can only hold such a pace for 2 minutes at a time then its not your tempo pace. if i did 6x2 min at 5;40 pace that would be a complete waste of my time. when gomez gave us workouts he would always hit us with some really stupid bullshit but after a while i could get sort of used to it. if he told us to do "5x500m at 800 pace" then i could translate that mentally into "coach wants us to run some fast 500s today" and I could adjust based on perceived effort. but then i hear these coach kissane workout and i really just dont know what to do. as a captain i dont want to be an insubordinate but at the same time this shit is just worthless

I think I get what you are saying. I don't know why she isn't listening to you because I sort of have been telling her about my running and she adjusts my mileage according to what we say. But maybe the workout part is just her trying to go easy on you? That probably isn't very productive for you but maybe she has a reason. Idk, but this shit does suck I agree.

yeah its weird.. its probably because im in the 65-80 range that she thinks i'm following what she told us to do and doubling even though ive been very adamant about not wanting to given it takes a lot of time and i dont feel like doing it as theres no major goal on the horizon. and the workouts thing is weird too because if mileage is an individual thing then i think workouts should be too. it doesnt make sense for everyone to do the same thing when everyone its in a different spot

Yeah it would make sense for workouts to be individualized. It's weird that she wants to be work with us yet won't work with you on your mileage.
