Notes

gonna start some doubles today. figure i can get to 100 in a 7 day week pretty easily with some doubles and its probably pretty helpful for my joints and whatnot to do it

looking at the heart rate thing on my watch was really weird. first 4 or 5 i felt pretty good, clicking off like 6:55s or so pretyt easily. i look at my heart rate every mile mark and it has me in the 120s or "easy" zone. i think to myself "man this shits really weird" bc on sunday i was running pretty similar paces for my long run and my heart rate was mostly 140-150, occasionally up to 155 on the back half, what my watch says is the "aerobic" zone. then i hit mile 5 and suddenly the thing spikes to 180. so i decide to slow down a lot to like 7:40/7:50 pace and it stays in the "threshold" zone about like 170. at this point i feel like im basically walking but my watch is telling me that im at threshold pace???? like wtf??????? maybe this thing is really just throwing out random numbers at me because it seems sus af. i mean maybe i am actually in god awful shape and i will run a 40 min 8k this fall but that would be really weird. maybe i have covid or some shit ????

Use the tried and true "shove two fingers in your neck and count while looking at your watch" trick! Idk, tho, my hr gets pretty dang high, too, and I'm not dead, so? At the end of my run today I counted like 30 beats in 10 seconds, so like 180...idek, TG

i did that ol thing at the end and i counted like 14 or 15 for 6 sec so 140/150 wchih seems legit

gotta just ignore the stupid garmin bullshit
