First run with new shoes. Felt really good after about the first mile. The heel was slipping a bit in the right shoe and I was getting some heal pain initially, but settled in and felt good further into the run. Almost was hit by cars twice. Ugh! I swear the neon reflective vest acts more like an attractant to vehicles than a safety measure! Footing was a little dicey, had to watch for patches of ice which probably hindered my pace consistency a bit. Splits were:
Mile 1: 9:03
Mile 2: 8:49
Mile 3: 8:46
Mile 4: 8:53
Mile 5: 8:47
