plan was to run just like I'm hoping to run the GR Marathon...

first mile 9:15-9:30 and then the next 3 miles at or near 9:00 pace and average 9:00 or just over for first 4 miles...(I averaged 8:57 for first 4 miles)

for the marathon I want to run miles 5-20 between 8:20-8:30 and average 8:25. I'm hoping I can be very mindful of using my glutes to push me forward and not rely so much on my legs. I did this today and the mile times were lower than planned but by squeezing my glutes periodically and trying to use them and not my legs, the miles seemed very easy and I wasn't breathing hard at all. My average pace for my last 12 miles was 8:10.

I pushed even harder on my last mile but just with my glutes and ran my fastest mile. I definitely had more legs left to keep going. Hoping I feel this good at the marathon.

I think it was very important to run the last few days at a slow pace too!
