Really awesome long run with my high school assistant coach (who also went to Wartburg) Amanda. It was so fun to catch up, we haven't ran together for like a year and a half since she was pregnant last winter and I was out for the count last summer. I told her about my season and she told me about the highschoolers' season and her marathon. We met up in town, so it was still a little hilly but we did a relatively flat route for the most part so that was good. I like how the splits are like a pyramid lol. Apparently, we were straight cookin' on this run, we got some sub 7 minute miles in there, hot damn! That's what always happens when I run with her though, she's a beast and she likes to #rolllllllllllll.

Also, did some stats:

Longest run since: December 19th, 2020 (exactly a year ago from today)

Highest mileage week since: February 22-28th, 2021 (about 10 months ago, and the weeks before this were literally in the 15s-30s range, so it was such a random jump, why tf did I do that?!)

Anyway, I am absolutely thrilled right now!!! I haven't ran this long in forever, and the fact that it felt so easy even with the fast pace is so crazy to me, considering my long runs in the season felt so hard! I wasn't sure I'd see myself getting above 40 miles again and now I have finally broken down that barrier! This was honestly probably one of the best weeks of training I've ever had, with the solid tempo on Tuesday, good hill workout on Friday, and this awesome long run + some solid mileage in between. Not gonna lie, I feel like I could pop off a really sweet 10k right now. I'm sure all of this sounds super braggy and cocky (which is not my intention at all), but I just feel super good about my fitness and I haven't truly felt like that in a long time. This whole week has given me such a big confidence boost and has allowed me to see potential in myself that I haven't seen before. I am beyond grateful for such a great week of running and to be (mostly) healthy right now (still slightly buggy achilles but I've been giving it a lot of extra attention over the break). I cannot stress this enough: The ability to run is one of the greatest gifts!
