Park to Park Half Marathon... official time 1:07:57 for 9th place.
Goal going into this race was sub 69 minutes, Chris had the same goal so we decided to try to take it out around 5:15 and aim to keep it around there the first few miles. We got out nicely and the pace was feeling pretty easy. I didn't really consciously try to pick up the pace, but we started picking it up at mile 4 and before I knew it we were clicking off 5:0x's consistently. The pace was feeling hard but manageable, I always forget how fast half marathon pace actually feels.
Those idiots Tyson and Blake who went out way too fast came into view around mile 5 and we slowly started reeling them in. We just maintained our pace, caught up, and passed them by mile 10. I think it was around mile 10 where I got a little gap on Chris and was solo the rest of the way. I had a few rough patches in the last couple miles but all in all I held it together fabulously. I think my last 5k was in the 15:50 ballpark so that's super encouraging. The neg split indicates I should be able to go a bit faster with even pacing.
This was one of the most satisfying runs I've had in a while, can't wait for a day when I put the marathon together in the way I put this half together. The Vaporfly 4%s are money.
