NIRCA Track Nats 5k
Great race this morning. I was a little nervous going in about not feeling super comfortable on the track, but those feelings went away as soon as the gun went off. It got out pretty slow the first 600ish and there was a lot of bumping and shuffling for position. Then Sell from PSU and a kid from Upenn went to the front and the pace got honest. Those two were clicking off 71-73s on the money and it was awesome. I just got in line and was sitting in 3rd on the rail with Will right behind me the majority of laps 3-10. With about 1200 to go Will moved around us onto Sell's shoulder and with 700 to go he took off and built about a 15 Meter gap on Sell, the UPenn guy and me. Then with about 500 to go I moved into second and at the bell started running down Will. Caught and passed him with 200 to en route to a 59 second last lap. This was an awesome race for Will and me. Going 1-2 is huge for the club and it felt awesome. Gotta keep it rolling into Boston next week!
