Worked out pretty well on this hilly course to alternate paces like Coach & I planned & a lot more runners than my last race so just missed an AG award! No dry heaves so backing off the first mile pays off. Didn't record it on the Whoop app but had the strap on & it says 17.1 strain, powerful, more strenuous than 93% of all days across Whoop athletes! My regular chest strap and the Whoop strap are pretty close on my max HR during the race-Whoop says 175.
Plan: 1mi tempo, 1mi race, 800 tempo, 800 race. Actual mile splits: 8:21, 8:19, 8:53 & 7:50 pace at the end.
