Notes
HRV 70 this morning, pretty high so definitely in recovery mode after a massage yesterday evening. My HR dropped as low as 36! Readiness/Relative Balance on the parasympathetic side of the scale with 8.
Like Coach said, so many good things happened during and after this run! Experimented with Run Gum for the first time. One package right before my run. Seemed to work just fine. Lots of positive self-talk in this run and focused on the interval I was doing! Plan was 6 x 800m at 3:55 with 400 recoveries. Splits were 3:59, 3:55, 4:00, 3:57, 3:57 & 3:59.
One of the things Magness & Stulberg mention in their book is avoiding perfectionism to prevent burnout, and there was a time when I would look at these times and be disappointed because I missed the planned paces slightly. I was running by effort and looking at my watch occasionally, so I knew my times were in the ballpark. Even though I know the exact times now, I'm still happy my times were in the ballpark!
