Outer Crue

Notes

Wow this felt really good. I checked the distance on Outer Crue, and it was about right for the length of this tempo if we ran 2 laps. Joe and Jeremy didn't mind that idea, so we started from the top of Drury Lane. Jeremy and I were really consistent and strong through the entire tempo, and I think I may have actually run a faster 2nd lap I think Joe was having a bit of a rougher time with it but he'll come around. I'm pleased this workout went so well, I needed to destroy one of these long tempos just to give me confidence that I can focus for an entire 10k.

On a slightly different note, I was watching some Flotrack videos of the New Balance Grand Prix last night, and Centrowitz controlled the mile from the gun. He got to the front behind the rabbits, then when they left, he slowed the pace down, but never let anyone past him. Then the last 200, he was still racing smoothly and in control, down the last stretch his stride didn't change, his arm motion wasn't any different. He just had a plan and executed it. That's what I need to focus on when I'm racing in outdoor, make a plan, and stick to it, even amid the elbows, spikes, and surges around me.
