Notes
Very happy with this. Coming in, I thought 54 even was a realistic target. With the rolls on the course, I wanted to go with the ebb and flow of the hills, and keep the effort so I still felt pretty good at 5-miles. Accomplished that, ran hard to the finish and felt like I had raced properly.
I know even after all this time, I'm a surgy runner, that I'll make big moves to pass people that aren't incredibly even. I don't know if the energy cost of the burst is worth more or less than the mental shakeup. I know I ran 54:05 2 years ago, but that difference is all in the noise.
