Notes
Workout was 7-10 by 1600 or 5 minutes tempo pace. I figured I'd run it on the track, know the distance, hit the times, get used to the mental grind, especially if Coach manages to get a 10k into the meet next week. I wasn't sure how many I'd do. I was thinking anywhere from 7-9, but my fifth was a little slow, so I told coach 2 more. I was glad that I was able to refocus in the middle of that 5th 1600, especially since in a 5k/10k, that's a make or break adjustment. It's not too difficult to have a bad repeat, and come back strong the next one, but it's significantly harder to start poorly and adjust on the fly mid repeat, and you can't take a 60s break in the middle of a race. I think the past few days have told me that I'm fit to race, and all I need to do is get in a relaxed, confident mindset, and I'll see time melt away.
