Notes
so I have a 10k pr, 36:27.
Shane and I were assigned a 20-40 minute tempo, and he said he wanted to do it on the track. I thought he was nuts. But some of the other groups had some repeats at tempo pace, and B-good and Hunter were running 5:50's too. So I ran it on the track, and they popped in and out based off their intervals and recovery. I was surprised how consistent I was, even with the wind, and leading the whole way. Both of Hunter's 3200m repeats that he ran with me were 11:40 on the nose. Around 7k, B-Good left to run his shorter repeats, and Hunter wanted to run his last rep without me being a metronome so he could get used to it. Around 8k, it was really hard to keep going, but I decided around 4 miles in that I would go for 10k, and I managed to focus and bring the last couple laps back to pace.
Good workout, looking at the tables now I was supposed to be a little bit quicker, maybe 5:45's but I don't really care. One thing that I realized was that after about 2.5 miles, I forgot how far I had gone, just literally forgot, and I was just focused on hitting ~87s a lap. Maybe that's what I really need to do this weekend.
