Notes

Got up early to run on Sunday morning, lots of work to do the next few days. I liked this long run, even though it was really hilly, the weather was nice, and the route was almost completely lined with trees.

Week in review:

Yet another good week of training, which ended in another good race on Saturday. I started with a half day off, rode the stationary bike, then I had a ~4mile tempo and a nice fast interval session Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by a nice, mostly unplanned MLR on Thursday. I kept the quick premeet this week as well.

Saturday was obviously pretty sweet (blow by blow was yesterday). I think I broke through a couple of walls mentally (i.e. I'm stronger up hills so I don't perform well on flat courses), and I trusted my fitness to bring me home and kept pushing. I'm not sure where this new mental strength came from. Much of it probably was seeded during Track when Coach Chabot would say that now that I'm coming back at the end of workouts, I need to focus on holding throughout the middle of the workouts.

Glad that I got 60 miles of running in with the day off (I'd estimate the hour on the bike was worth ~8 miles which would make it ~68) The next two weeks I should be training through for 70+ miles each week, then the 3rd week will probably be lower for a fitness check at All-NE's

Cities next weekend, goal is to finish no worst than 2nd. Chris Kibler right now can probably beat me, he ran a 25:20 at UMD this week,
